General Motors Gives Up: Plant Closings Killing Hummer Brand

General Motors is closing 4 more SUV plants and is committing to a permanent shift to small cars. They expect to "sell or revamp" the Hummer brand, and try to sell 100,000+ volts/year by 2012. High oil prices are being blamed for the consumer shift, along with increasing trends of higher education.

Online video won't go away... it will just splinter and move further underground. It won't cut down on videos being available online -- or even how many people are watching those videos. But what it will do is make it that much more difficult for Viacom to figure out ways to embrace the trend and actually make more money off of it.
